A: Inrix Traffic for Windows Mobile shows a prediction of the next hour of traffic by selecting Menu -> Show on Map -> Next Hour of Traffic. It will overlay the currently displayed map with icons representing traffic flow predictions for the individual traffic segments.

Each quarter of the clock corresponds to a 15 minute interval for the next hour. Each interval is colored corresponding to the predicted traffic for that time period. In the example above, traffic is currently light in the first quadrant reading clockwise. In fifteen minutes it is predicted to be moderate in the second quadrant. 30 minutes from now it is predicted to be heavy in the third quadrant. Finally, 45 minutes from now traffic is predicted to be stop and go in the fourth quadrant. When the map refreshes, the predictions will be refreshed as well.

Using the 'Comparative Traffic View'
Q: I don't understand the comparative traffic view. What does this show me?
A: Inrix Traffic for Windows Mobile shows comparative traffic maps by selecting Menu -> Traffic Compared to Normal.

"Normal" traffic values are derived from many sources, including the time of day, the day of week, weather conditions, school schedules, event schedules, road closures, accidents, etc. These derived speeds are then compared to real-time speeds to produce the comparative traffic view. Speeds greater than 10mph of normal are considered to be "better than normal," and speeds less than 10 mph of normal are considered to be "worse than normal", for that particular time of the day.

Use the following map legend:
Q: With Driving Speeds turned on while looking at Traffic Compared to Normal, the speeds are much smaller than usual. What do they mean?
A: Select Menu -> Show On Map -> Comparative Speeds to toggle the comparative traffic speeds overlay. When selected, the values indicate the difference between current speeds, and typical speeds for that particular time of the day.

If you haven't already downloaded a traffic forecast, or if your device's traffic forecast data is out of date, you are asked to choose whether you want to load predictive data for the next forty-eight hours or the next five days. After the traffic forecast is downloaded to your device, a screen will appear displaying the map with DVD-style controls at the bottom for moving forward and backward through time.

Tapping the outer buttons moves in 3-hour increments, while tapping the inner buttons moves in 15-minute increments.

For mobile devices without touch screens, press the '#' key to move 15 minutes into the future and the '*' key to move 15 minutes into the past.

Daylight Savings Time
Microsoft Windows Mobile 5 will not shift the on device time to match the government imposed time shift to day light savings time.

The 2006 daylight saving time implementation is as follows:
    · Daylight saving time starts at 02:00 A.M. on April 2, 2006.
    · Daylight saving time ends at 02:00 A.M. on October 29, 2006.
The 2007 daylight saving time implementation is as follows:
    · Daylight saving time starts at 02:00 A.M. on March 11, 2007.
    · Daylight saving time ends at 02:00 A.M. on November 4, 2007.
That means between March 11 and April 2nd the on device clock will be incorrect unless you manually change the clock. Inrix Traffic for Windows Mobile will continue to operate normally, however we will show the incorrect time when showing a traffic forecast.

To correct the problem, please change your device clock manually by going to Settings -> Clock and Alarm and typing in the correct time.
